Charles C. Shulman has substantial experience in employee benefits compliance and transactional work, advising on various issues relating to pension plans, 401(k) plans, ESOPs, 403(b) plans and other qualified and nonqualified plans. He works with clients on voluntary correction programs, welfare plans, COBRA compliance, ERISA liability, fiduciary issues, deferred compensation, 409A requirements, employment and severance agreements, equity compensation and other executive compensation issues. He has written a number of articles and chapters and lectured on a variety of employee benefits and executive compensation issues. He is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and co-authors West's widely used Qualified Retirement Plans. He is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Deferred Compensation.
He received his B.S. summa cum laude from Brooklyn College and his J.D. and LL.M. (in Taxation) from New York University School of Law, where he was a senior editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics.
