Lana Kalickstein has concentrated on the taxation of real estate transactions for more than ten years. Her work includes advising REITs and other real estate owners on the ownership, operation, acquisition, and disposition of properties, including structuring complex tax-deferred like-kind exchanges and debt workouts. She has advised extensively on real estate and partnership taxation, as well as on real estate transfer tax at the state and local levels.
She received her A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard University and her J.D. magna cum laude from New York University, where she received the Order of the Coif, and was Note Development Editor of the Law Review. She received her LL.M (Taxation) from New York University. She was Law Clerk to Judge Wilfred Feinberg, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, 2001-2002.
